For the first time in Dubai two ARRI D21 cameras used on a 3D Rig for live action filming.

Filmquip Media was contracted by Boomtown productions to shoot a launch film for the Dubai Metro Launch.
We brought in the cameras and SRW 1 recordersfrom ARRI Media in the UK with 2 sets of matched S4 lenses. Vision 3 supplied the Hinds Stereographic rig.

The 5th Annual Digital Studio Awards were held at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai on Wednesday 4th March, recognizing the leading companies and individuals from the region’s growing broadcast and production sectors. 14 winners were awarded, in categories that covered a number of fields, from individual excellence, to corporate success, and from outstanding service to expertise in equipment.

Filmquip Dr. Who Editorial

The BBC’s Dr. Who shoot in Dubai was one of many firsts. It was the first time that the BBC shot a Dr. Who episode in Dubai. It was the first time that a double-decker London bus was dragged almost 3 kilometers into sand dunes. It also saw the debut of the GFM 14 crane in the Middle East, which was brought to Dubai by Filmquip Media specifically for this shoot.
